About Us

Urological Surgery is a specialty which manages surgical diseases of the genitourinary tract in men, and the urinary tract in women. This website is intended as a vehicle for dissemination of information to current and future urology residents in the city of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Medical students interested in urological surgery as a career can view the site to gain information about the teaching Faculty and current residents, and the academic program at the University of Ottawa. This site is not intended for those seeking medical information about urological conditions, or for finding a urologist in Ottawa. Referrals to urological surgeons must come from other physicians, such as family doctors.

The University of Ottawa Urology training program has teaching at all three Campuses of The Ottawa Hospital, which includes the Civic, General and Riverside Campuses. Pediatric Urology is located at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO). There are currently two full time pediatric urologists at CHEO, four urologists at the General Campus, and seven at the Civic. The Riverside Campus is a day surgical facility which also houses the Ottawa Lithotripsy program. There are currently thirteen residents in the program and one pediatric urology Fellow.
